Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she began gaining notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet in 2012 when she released her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the internet including her independently released single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's reference. In the following year, her music was played all over Dreamville. She was officially signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is a track that she performed with Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she joined by EarthGang. She also appeared as a guest on two songs with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was followed by a music video in September. On November 9, she released two additional singles: the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 the singer released two new singles entitled No One and Pdigree. She was featured with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later released the song in a solo version on her debut album. On February 20, 2019 a music video was made available for the track. The track has received more than 3 millions views on YouTube within the debut week. In December 2018, she performed as an opening act for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
